YEAR OF OPPORTUNITIES

"He who could foresee affairs three days in advance would be rich for thousands of years."  - Chinese Proverb 

Like the above quote rightly affirms, the ability to see afar off places one on the pathway of obtaining the opportunities which lie ahead. The previous year came and went with much traumatic experiences for some and a few wins for others while many were left to the mercy of chance and times for betterness.

The new year has surfaced with much opportunities for growth and fulfilment of purpose as well as better utilization of privileges. While some would still find it difficult to realize the many benefits present in this year, I need you to carefully look through the following opportunities available for you and I this year;

  • Better Goals: Goal setting is one of the available opportunities we can utilize this year. While it's good to have lots of goals, it's better to have better goals that are SMART - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound. If you couldn't meet your goals last year,  the best you can do now is to forgive yourself  of your past and focus on moving ahead this year. 
  • Better Networks: "Show me a man or woman that has broken protocols to excel and I will show you his or her her networks and connections." The saying that "no man is an island of knowledge" is very much correct. Networking with people of like-minds and passion is one of the opportunities that can be best utilized this year to run well with your life's vision and purpose. 
  • Better Resolution: New Year's Resolution is good but having them alone is not enough but daily acting them is best. Avoiding distractions is one of the keys that can further aid one's resoluteness. Keep off from unnecessary activities which can in no way add value to your life's vision and purpose. 


IT'S NEVER LATE 

  • It's never late to plan properly for the year. Do it now! 
  • It's never late to inquire the best approach for the year. Seek advice from informed people or from those you can trust and most importantly, God.
  • It's never late to take actions, start now! "Intentions without an action makes a zero but intentions with an action makes a hero." Having plans and ideas is a good exercise but backing them up with tangible action makes a fortune. 
  • Do not help God. You may be asking "How?", In order not to help God in bringing all our plans to pass, we must be patient, trustful and mindful. We must be patient enough for God to work out His plans for us according to His timing. According to the Scriptures in Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. (NKJV) The ability to wait is a great virtue and must be practicalized this year. We must trust Him enough to keep to His words and we must be mindful of His presence in and with us in order not to fail in doing His bidding to us (sincere obedience).

WHY ARE THEY FOLLOWING YOU? Do you really know why some people follow you or look up to you? Some people follow you because of the riches you possess while others follow you because of the God you carry. Some will want to be your friend because you have connections to big places in form of companies and the likes.  Do you know why many people followed Jesus from the start but only few of them followed him to the place of his crucifixion? Some left him because he was not rich with material things. Many left him because he said the truth. There were those who left him because they felt he was using them and also those who left him because their negative mind and disobedient spirit with the worldly wisdom they carried while following him was not yielding any result in their lives. DIGNITY

DIGNITY IS A GREAT VIRTUE  Dignity is the state or quality of being worthy of honour or respect.   The only way we can secure our dignity is by not being lazy with our work. A lazy person will loose his/her dignity. A lazy pastor/ prophet will loose his/ her dignity if he/ she refuses to work. A pastor that refuse to study the bible, pray or do spiritual activities will end up loosing his/ her dignity.  They are the types that go from house to house of their church members, eating different kinds of food. Tell me how the church members will respect such a pastor.
