WHY THE COMPETITION?
There’s competition everywhere; in families, in schools, in offices, among friends, also in the church. God didn’t create us to compete with ourselves. We all have different assignment on this planet earth, so why competing?
Let me start with music ministers. A music minister that still engages in competition with colleagues in the same ministry does not know what he/she is doing. For you to be competing means you are not sure of your ministry, you don’t know what your ministry carries. You don’t have faith in that work committed in your hands.
The reason why so many music ministers, pastors, prophets fail in their calling and assignment is because they are not sure of their ministry, they don’t know were God has called them to occupy. They just want to carry the title of a pastor, prophet, music minister, HOD, Apostle, Bishop etc. They forget that there’s a task and assignment assigned to all ministry.
Generally in our society, the reason people engage themselves in competition is because of jealously. Your friend bought a car, you also want to get it, you don’t know the source of the car. It could be that he/she collected the car on loan and the payment is deducted monthly from his/her account and you are somewhere dying of jealousy as a result of ignorance.
Competition among church members; she bought this, I must buy; he bought that, I must buy; he’s in that position as alter minister; I must also be an alter minister, I must do better than him to get that post, these are the negative thoughts going in our minds in the church. They also strive to bring each other down just to get to the post that they cannot handle.
We are not here on earth to compete with anyone, we are here to carry out assignments given to each and every one of us by God. So, stay put in the area which you’re called, and remain there till God blesses you and showcase you.
