The Buying and Selling in the Church - Baby Christians

BABY CHRISTIANS by JOERYOS 

Babies are known to be immature and tender as they are very young and need nurturing. The Bible describes baby Christians  as people  that still suck milk and breast.  We have 90% of this kind of people in the church and different organizations today. Their activities in and outside the ‘House of God’ speak loud of their existence. How can we know them? It is so simple just as the popular saying goes that “by their fruit, you shall know them.” Why should we identify them? It is needful to do so in order not to be dragged to unfulfilment and disarray of purpose thereby making us live contrary to the will of God for us.

They are the type that talk when sermon is ongoing. They talk about business, personal and other nonessential matters. They are the type that jealous people’s cloths, shoes and general appearance. They come into the church with different kinds of business ideas. They introduce new designs of cloths, shoes and perishable items while neglecting the imperishable living Word of God which has eternal life. They buy and sell in the church through their minds amidst ongoing sermon yet they claim to be spiritual. 

It is the same thing that happened in the scripture which made Jesus get angry and sent them out of the temple. We had people with high rankings; bishops, prophets, priests and what have you, all present in the temple yet Jesus drove them away because they were not doing the work that was expected of them which included showing the people the way of the Lord. They preferred merchandising to publicizing the good news of God’s saving power through Christ Jesus.   

Same also with this present age, same error we are repeating. The buying and selling spirit has taken over everywhere and lots of believers are found wanting. Purpose and destiny means nothing to some people again because they prefer buying and selling things that won’t help them grow to fulfill their destiny and purpose of living.

Till now, nobody knows the reason for the lockdown of the churches. It’s only those that  are spiritually inclined that will see the spiritual message God is passing to his own sons and daughters. The lockdown has now stopped the buying and selling spirit in churches and God wants to see who is really is serving him in spirit and in truth. 

Till now, some people are still struggling to study, pray, and to do spiritual exercises that align them to God their Maker. They are still finding it hard to cope with the present realities but waiting for churches to resume so that they can continue their usual routine of buying and selling as well as babyism in Christianity. God gave some of us assignment, projects, purpose and destiny to fulfill for him and when there was no lockdown, we procrastinated and gave flimsy excuses why we are unable to get the right things done. Now that the lockdown is here, we still procrastinate. 

When he comes back to seek after what he has given you to do for him, what will you tell Him? What will you even say to Him that caused the delay and procrastination? People of God, it’s time we stop this attitude of sulking milk, it’s time to chew bone, it’s time to take responsibility for our existence. The reason why we are created need to be visible, enough of hiding. It’s time to face the reality of life. 

When I’m talking about baby Christians, I am not talking about infants, children,toddlers. I’m talking about the grown ups, adults, mothers and fathers that are still sucking breast and milk. Also, in ministerial aspect, we have baby pastors, bishops,prophets, music ministers,  G.O‘s and so on. These set of titles are found in our present age. They refuse to carry out the duties attached to their title rather, they lazy and carry titles all around running after fame, positions thereby killing and witch crafting the innocent souls that they should be winning for Christ. They manifest, hatred, jealousy, envy among themselves and so on. 

The king of Glory is coming soon. What will you tell him made you not to do His will and fulfill your purpose and destiny? The rapture is near, He’s coming soon. It’s time we stop this buying and selling spirit from consuming us. It’s time we stop sucking breast and milk. Let’s thirst after God. Let’s thirst for the work He has for us. Let’s grow up!
