Pastor Kumuyi Explodes!
Pastor W.F Kumuyi
It is very easy for some people to debunk the claims of others on a matter of urgent concern but when such claims are backed up with relevant references and empirical evidences, they call for critical analysis and considerations.
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi had on Sunday 24th May, 2020 via a nationwide live broadcast of the Sunday Message to his fellow worshippers whom he always addressed as children, brothers and sisters preached on the topic 'Divine Prescription for Freedom from Calamity.'
Which "calamity" could the pastor be referring to? Could it be the past, present or future? Do calamities really exist? These questions begged for answers. Of a truth, the world had witnessed diverse calamities which involved individuals, families, communities and nations finding themselves in unimaginable quagmire in need of lasting solutions. Presently, the calamity that has befallen human race is one that has affected the social, emotional, psychological, economical and even spiritual aspects of the human life and while few are just recuperating, others are still grappling with it.
The Explosion
The pastor backed up his sermon with the accounts of the life of Job from the biblical book of Job chapter 2 from verse 3 up to 8 where Job was afflicted with infirmity by Satan. He further stated that from chapter 42 from verse 10 of the same book that God himself turned away the calamity brought upon Job by Satan and restored all he had lost to a double fold. This proves that God is still able to turn away the calamity befallen many in the whole world today.
In three sub-topics, the pastor gave critical points on what the 'Divine Prescription' was all about.
1. Repentance and Redemption from captivity of sin.
According to him, sin is a captivity and has led to so many calamities today. To deal with it, there must be;
a. Recognition of captivity of sin; quoting from Proverbs 5:22, 2 Timothy 3:6, Romans 7:14-17,23,24
b. Repentance after conviction of sin; quoting from 2 Corinthians 7:10
c. Redemption and cleansing from all sin; quoting from Romans 3:24
2. The Remedy for recovery from captivity of sickness.
He made his listeners understand that God has remedy for every sickness and it is based on His compassion which he termed 'remedy of compassion.' "As God is compassionate, we all must also show compassion to others." He cited Job 42:10, Matthew 5: 45, Psalm 41: 1-3 and Acts 10:38
3. Redemption from the captivity of Satan.
In the course of true redemption from Satan's captivity, there is;
a. Release from the captivity of Satan; quoting Luke 13: 11 - 16; 4: 18-21,36
b. Reckoning the curse on Satan; quoting from Genesis 3:14,15, Hebrews 2: 14 & 15 and 1 John 3:8
c. Rejoicing over the conquering of Satan; quoting from Luke 10: 17-20 and Romans 16:20
At the end of his sermon he decreed that the God of Peace shall bruise Satan under the feet of his listeners. Amen!
For you reading this post, God who gave Job an end that was better than his beginning shall do likewise in your life now and beyond, Amen!
Shalom!
